Privacy Policy
This is a short, plain-English explanation of what data this website handles. It applies to italysdigitalnomadvisa.com only.

What we collect
This website is primarily a static information site. We do not require any account, login, or registration to read it. We collect data in three limited cases — all fully described below.
If you submit the contact form or a newsletter signup, we receive the information you choose to provide (name, email address, message, topic). We use this only to reply to you, and we do not share it with third parties.
If you submit the Featured Listing application form on the /sponsor page, we receive your business name, contact name, email, phone (optional), website, languages, the Resources category you'd like to be featured in, the tier you're applying for, and your short brief. We use this information to evaluate fit, communicate about your application, and — if accepted — to issue invoices and publish your approved listing copy. We do not share applicant data with third parties; we retain unsuccessful applications for up to 12 months in case you re-apply, after which they're deleted.
We do not collect:
- Identification documents, passport details, or visa application information
- Payment card details — invoices for paid placements are processed through a third-party payment processor (such as Stripe), and we never see or store your card data
- Phone numbers, postal addresses, or any data beyond what you voluntarily type into a form
If you contact a lawyer, real estate agency, accountant, or any other listed business via a link on this site, your interaction with that third party is governed by their own privacy policy — not ours.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses the following mechanisms:
- localStorage (in your browser). The interactive checklist on the checklist page saves your progress in your browser's localStorage. This data lives on your device only — it never leaves your browser, and we never see it. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
- Google Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 (properties G-8VQ3XY0M97 for Nômade Media and G-JB8CET85KZ for Nômade Italia) to understand which pages people read and to improve the site. Google sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_* that contain a randomized client identifier. We do not collect or store IP addresses, names, or contact information through Analytics. You can opt out by installing Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by enabling Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser, or by using a browser-level cookie blocker.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or fingerprinting.
Third-party services we embed
To keep the site useful, we use a small number of third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — page-view analytics as described above. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Web3Forms — when you submit the contact form, the newsletter signup, or the Featured Listing application form, your submission is delivered to our inbox via Web3Forms (a form-relay service). They process the submission as a data processor and do not retain it long-term. Policy: web3forms.com/privacy-policy.
- Stripe (for paid Featured Listings) — if you become a Featured Partner, invoices are issued via Stripe. Stripe processes your payment data directly; we never receive or store your card information. Policy: stripe.com/privacy.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces (Playfair Display, Inter) are served from fonts.gstatic.com. No cookies are set; only the font files are requested.
- Outbound links to government portals (FBI, ACRO, US State Department, gov.uk, esteri.it, Agenzia delle Entrate, Questura), commercialisti, and law firms. Following an outbound link sends you to that organization's site, which has its own privacy practices.
- Image hosting. All photos on the site are served from this domain — no external image CDNs are used.
Outbound link tracking & tracked redirects
Most outbound links to listings on our Resources page (lawyers, real-estate agencies, commercialisti, apostille services, sworn translators, relocation services, banking, insurance, and connectivity providers) pass through tracked redirect URLs on our own domain — for example, italysdigitalnomadvisa.com/go/exampleservice — that 302-redirect to the destination site. When a reader clicks one of these links, we log the click in our analytics so we can understand which categories and listings our readers find useful. We do not collect personally identifiable information through these clicks — only aggregate counts, top source pages, and country-level geographic data.
Featured Listings are paid sponsorships, clearly labeled with a "★ Featured Partner" ribbon. Featured Partners receive an end-of-quarter report containing aggregate click data only; we do not share individual visitor information with them. For more on what a Featured Listing is, who can apply, and how the program is structured, see our sponsor page.
Some outbound links may be affiliate links (currently SafetyWing, Wise, and Airalo). When you click an affiliate link and complete a transaction, we may earn a small commission from the destination service at no additional cost to you. The merchant — not us — sees your transaction details. Affiliate disclosure also appears in the footer of every page.
If you'd prefer not to be tracked through our redirect URLs, you can hover over any link to read its destination URL in your browser's status bar and visit the destination directly without using our redirect.
Your rights
If you've submitted any form on this site (contact, newsletter, or Featured Listing application) and you'd like us to delete the information you provided, email info@nomademedia.travel with the subject line "Privacy — delete my submission" and we'll remove it within a reasonable time. EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection); the same email address handles those requests.
Cookie consent & analytics opt-out
The first time you visit any page on this site, you'll see a cookie banner asking whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose, no analytics scripts or cookies are loaded. If you click Decline, no analytics will run on subsequent visits either. If you click Accept analytics, you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser settings — that will reset the choice and the banner will reappear on your next visit. We also honour the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals: if either is enabled, we treat your visit as declined automatically and never show the banner.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act:
- Right to know. You may request a description of the personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, the sources of that information, and the categories of third parties (if any) with whom we have shared it.
- Right to delete. You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you.
- Right to correct. You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA. There is therefore nothing for you to opt out of, but you may still make a verifiable request and we will honour it.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality of service for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@nomademedia.travel with the subject line "CCPA request" and identify yourself sufficiently to allow us to verify your identity (typically the email address you used to submit a form on this site). We respond within 45 days as required by law.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as we need it. Specifically:
- Contact form submissions are retained for 24 months after the last reply in the thread, then permanently deleted from our inbox.
- Featured Listing applications that don't result in a signed sponsorship are retained for 24 months, then deleted.
- Featured Listing sponsor records (signed sponsorships) are retained for the duration of the sponsorship plus 7 years thereafter, in line with standard tax-audit and contract-history records-retention guidance.
- Newsletter subscribers (when we launch a newsletter) are retained indefinitely while you remain subscribed. One-click unsubscribe removes you immediately, and we permanently delete the record within 30 days.
- Google Analytics user-level data is retained for 14 months, then automatically deleted by Google. Aggregated reports (e.g., total monthly visitors) are retained indefinitely but contain no individual-level data.
- Server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested) are retained by our hosting provider for approximately 30 days, then automatically purged.
You can request deletion of any information you've submitted at any time by emailing info@nomademedia.travel, and we will honour the request within a reasonable time regardless of the retention windows above. The exception is records we are legally required to retain (e.g., signed sponsor contracts and associated invoices for tax purposes).
Server logs
Like virtually every website, the server hosting this site keeps short-lived access logs (IP address, user agent, page requested, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not connected to any identity, are not shared with third parties, and are typically deleted after a short retention period set by the hosting provider.
Children
This site is intended for adults considering immigration to Italy. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves (for example, if we add a newsletter signup or analytics in the future). Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top.

Who runs this site
This site is published by Nômade Media, an independent digital-publishing company that maintains a small portfolio of country-specific digital nomad visa guides. Nômade Italia is one of those guides. Nômade Media is the data controller for any information you submit through this site.
This privacy policy is provided as a good-faith summary and does not constitute legal advice. If you require formal privacy compliance documentation (e.g., EU GDPR, the Italian Codice in materia di protezione dei dati personali / D.Lgs. 196/2003 as amended), consult a qualified attorney.
