Why Rome?

Rome rewards patience. The eternal city is loud, sun-baked, and infrastructurally inconsistent — but every walk to the bakery passes a 2,000-year-old ruin, and the food, from supplì to cacio e pepe, is unrivalled. Fiber internet is solid in the centre and Trastevere; coworking has matured around Talent Garden and Spaces. Most foreign nomads settle in Trastevere, Monti, or Pigneto for walkable cafés and aperitivo culture.

Neighbourhoods to know

Trastevere. Cobblestone lanes west of the Tiber — the foreigner-favourite for its café density, walkability, and vibrant evening scene. Pricier than the average.
Monti. Just up from the Forum — boutique-y, leafy, and the closest thing to a quiet residential area in the centro storico.
Pigneto. Edgier south-east — street art, indie cafés, and the cheapest coworking. Up-and-coming with younger nomads.
Prati. Right of Vatican; orderly, residential, with great bakeries and coffee. Quieter pace, better value than Trastevere.

Coworking

Talent Garden Ostiense. Italy's largest coworking network — 1,500+ desks across the country; the Ostiense location is the hub for tech and startups.
Spaces Eur Arte. Polished international chain location near EUR — best fit for client meetings and corporate vibes.
CoWo360 Trastevere. Small, English-friendly, with a community of long-term residents.

Things to do

Walk the Tiber from Castel Sant'Angelo down to Testaccio at golden hour — the city makes more sense from the river.
Book a behind-the-scenes Vatican Museum tour at 7am to see the Sistine Chapel without crowds.
Get coffee at Sant'Eustachio standing at the bar (sit down and you pay double) — order "un caffè" and watch the ritual.
Eat carbonara at a trattoria like Da Felice or Roscioli where the chef hasn't compromised for tourists.

Practical tip

Rome's heat is no joke from June to September — afternoons hit 38°C+ and the marble bakes. Plan for late starts (cafés open at 7), riposo from 1–4pm, and dinner after 8.
